Students must pay the current Continuous Enrollment fee for any trimester in which they have been granted a Leave of Absence or registered for no academic credits but have not yet completed their program.
Continuous Enrollment
Master of Psychology program students are expected to enroll in and complete a minimum of 1 credit each trimester during their program tenure. Doctor of Psychology students are expected to be enrolled in full-time courses but may enroll in Continuous Enrollment if additional time is needed to complete a dissertation or placement.
- Continuous Enrollment Fees are assessed for each trimester in which a student is completing degree requirements but is not registered for credits.
- If a student completes their degree requirements within 14 business days of the start of a trimester, no fees will be assessed for that trimester.
Leave of Absence
Master of Psychology and graduate certificate students are expected to enroll in and complete a minimum of 1 credit each trimester during their program tenure. Doctor of Psychology students are expected to be enrolled in full-time courses.
A Leave of Absence (LOA) is a school-approved temporary period of time during which the student is not enrolled in courses but is not considered withdrawn from the program.
Should students, for any reason, wish to take a leave of absence for one or more trimesters, they must submit a Request for Leave of Absence, including the requested dates and reasons for the request, in writing to the Dean or Director of the Program in which they are enrolled. Verbal or telephone requests will not be accepted.
Once the Request is approved by the Dean or Director, the student should complete the “Leave of Absence Request Form” available on ADLearn under Student Forms. The student should forward the Dean/Director’s written approval and any other supporting documentation to the Registrar’s Office (registrar@adler.ca)
Any student who fails to sign up for courses for two trimesters without an official Leave of Absence and payment of Continuous Enrollment Fees will be dismissed from the Program. That student must re-apply and be admitted under policies, procedures, and requirements currently at the time of the new admission to continue in the Program.
To maintain Satisfactory Progress, degree students must apply for and pay the Continuous Enrollment Fee while they are completing a course for which an “IP–In Progress” grade was submitted in the previous one or two trimesters (for example, while completing a practicum or Major Research Project/Thesis or Practicum).
